Using the Keypad

1. Press the HOME button to light up the keypad
2. Enter your 4-digit code
3. The door will unlock automatically

To lock when leaving, press the lower-right button (the small house icon with an "X").

Note: Your code is only valid from check-in time until check-out time.

Getting Here

The cabin is about 25-30 minutes from Traverse City. A few tips for the drive:

• Avoid the south approach via Burnt Mill Road — it has large potholes and is rough (only suitable for trucks/SUVs). It can be impassable in the winter.
• Recommended route: Set your GPS to Lake Ann Brewing first, then enter the A-Frame address. This takes you on a smoother section of dirt road.

Driveway Parking

There's room for two or three vehicles in the off-street driveway.

Street Parking

Additional vehicles can park on the street — just make sure you're not blocking any neighbors' driveways.

The Essentials

• 🚭 No smoking anywhere on the property (zero tolerance)
• 🐾 No pets — Service animals welcome with advance notice
• 🔇 Quiet hours: 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM

The A-Frame comes loaded with everything you need for a relaxing getaway!

Hot Tub 🛁

The hot tub is available for guest use! Important: You'll need to sign a liability waiver online before arrival. We'll send you the link with your reservation details.

Fire Pit 🔥

Nothing beats a campfire under the stars! We provide firewood onsite. You'll find lighter fluid and a lighter in the kitchen or next to the washer/dryer. There's also a backup lighter in the brown storage bin outside.

Outdoor Living

• Charcoal grill on the deck — perfect for cookouts. (bring your own charcoal)
• Outdoor seating to enjoy the surroundings

Indoor Fun

• Board games for family game night
• Books and a cozy reading nook

Good to Know

• The silver dome structure next to the cabin is just for storage — no guests there!
• You're in the woodlands, so expect abundant wildlife and the occasional stray bug. It's all part of the rustic charm! 🦌

Coffee Setup ☕

We've got a traditional drip coffee maker stocked with coffee, creamer, and supplies. Feel free to bring your own Keurig if that's more your style!

Full Kitchen

Everything you need to cook:

• Refrigerator
• Oven & stove
• Microwave
• Dishwasher (pods under the sink)

Good to Know

Hot water: Can take a bit to reach the kitchen sink, so give it some time to warm up!

Trash

The blue bin is located at the end of the driveway. Pickup is on Thursdays.

Recycling

Recycling containers are right next to the trash bin.

Winter Travel ❄️

Northern Michigan winters can be intense! Roads may be slippery or unplowed. We strongly recommend arriving in a vehicle with:

• All-wheel drive, or
• Snow tires

Empire

We love Empire. Its about ~20 minutes from the A-frame, and hosts 2 of our favorite things:

• Grocers Daughter Chocolate makes the best treats around. We love their peanut butter pucks, and all their frozen summer treats. Speaking of summer, they also run a seasonal gelato shop next door!
• Empire Beach Village Park is one of the best beaches around. Multiple kids playgrounds, fire rings right on the beach, perfect views of Sleeping Bear Dunes - it doesn't get any better!

Security

There's a Nest doorbell camera at the front door. We only check footage when the doorbell rings or if there's a safety concern — your privacy is important to us.

Power Outages

Michigan weather can be unpredictable! We've provided lanterns and extra batteries in case the power goes out.

Scheduled Maintenance

Occasionally we may need to stop by for routine checks (like the hot tub). We'll always schedule these to minimize any disruption to your stay.

Quick Checklist

• Linens — Leave bed sheets on the beds; place wet towels in the shower
• Dishes — Load the dishwasher and start a quick cycle (pods are under the sink)
• Food — Toss any open food items
• Trash — Take garbage to the blue bin at the end of the driveway
• Beach towels — Wash and dry any you used (laundry pods next to washer/dryer)
• Remote — Return it to the coffee table
• Windows & doors — Make sure everything is closed and locked
